A Roadmap From Engagement to Aisle

As a wedding celebrant Brisbane and Gold Coast couples turn to early in their planning, we are often asked when exactly things need to happen. Here is the timeline we recommend to keep your ceremony planning calm and well organised, right through to your wedding day.

12 to 9 Months Out

This is the time to book your marriage celebrant, particularly if you have your heart set on a popular date or season. Lock in your ceremony venue, and start gently thinking about the overall feel you want, formal, relaxed, intimate, or a big celebration.

8 to 6 Months Out

Begin discussing legal requirements with your celebrant of marriage, including lodging your Notice of Intended Marriage closer to the required window. This is also a great time to start thinking about readings, rituals, and who you might like involved in your ceremony.

5 to 3 Months Out

Finalise your ceremony outline together with your celebrant, confirm any readers or special participants, and start drafting your vows if you are writing your own. If you are planning a legals only wedding or an intimate gathering, much of this stage will be wonderfully simple.

2 Months to the Big Day

Submit your Notice of Intended Marriage if you have not already, finalise ceremony timing with your venue, and confirm final ceremony details with your celebrant, music cues, processional order, and any last personal touches.

The Final Weeks

This is the time for a final run through with your celebrant, confirming every detail so you can walk into your ceremony feeling calm and prepared, wherever you are marrying across Brisbane, Toowong, Newstead or the Gold Coast.
